AIR OPTIONS 1) Intra Europa has 33 lbs per person luggage limits. 2) check your passport expiration dates. Some countries will not let you in if you have less than 6 months before expiration. Check with countries you wish to travel. If you need to renew allow plenty of time. There is a big backlog and delay re initialpassport issuance and renewals. BAGGAGE: Various airlines have differing baggage restrictions. Budget lines within Europe permit one bag at 33 lbs. Most traditional lines permit 44 lbs. and more than one bag. The only way to clarify the information is on the particular airline's website. I do have a current chart (June 2007) but changes are not precluded. INSURANCE:
Most United States health insurance plans do not provide coverage outside
the country. It is advisable to purchase Trip Cancellation and Interruption
insurance which offers medical coverage including emergency evacuation
and repatriation, protection against baggage loss and delay, reimbursement
of pre-paid charges, etc. Such insurance is provided by a variety of plans.
I offer Access America coverage and CSA Travel Protection. GROUND OPTIONS Bus transportation
from Rome to Sorrento June 4, 2008 Pick up at one of three hotels named below, with luggage; depart for Sorrento with a panoramic drive through Naples before arriving at Sorrento hotel in early afternoon.
The trip to Sorrento is a "tour trip". The guide will give a travelogue along the way, make a rest stop, do a driving tour of Naples, and perhaps a short lunch stop. The total time should be 4 to 4.5 hours. The return
bus and/or van from Sorrento to Rome Termini and/or Fumicino depends on
interest, and the departure time depends on travel plans. Anything and
everything is "doable" once Sandra has the details. If someone
requires individual transfers, that can be done also, but of course the
price will be higher. Bus only to Sorrento: 25€; WE
ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON A RETURN TRANSFER, AND DETAILS WILL BE FORTHCOMING. Sandra
has recommended the following hotel as an alternate for those who want
to stay near the airport. The hotel has an airport shuttle and the price
is about 100 euros per night but of course who knows what it will be any
given day. I will try to locate other alternatives as well. If members
want help in reserving any hotels, they may contact me. Please
contact me at any time with questions and requests. |
