The Bay of Naples has a warm, pleasant climate from April to October, but can be cold in winter, though snowfall, except on high ground, is comparatively rare. August is the hottest month of the year, and cities like Naples close down as everyone leaves for a beach or mountain holiday. The weather in May—June has very pleasant temperatures—16-28ºC/61-82ºF.
